You may not have come across Maree Cruden yet, as she’s one of the newest members of the Jonas Leisure team, but when your paths eventually cross, you’ll find someone with an absolute zest for an active life.

A brand new year is here and already it’s looking more promising than its predecessors, 2020 and 2021. As Australia and New Zealand start to embrace life living alongside the virus-that-shall-not-be-named, we’re learning that the fitness world is evolving and looking much different prior to the pandemic.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, mental health has largely come into focus. With so many strict and extended lockdowns, with some states experiencing the toughest and longest lockdown and restrictions in the world, it’s no surprise that our mental health has suffered and needs greater awareness and support.

Sydney-based Jackson Cheung is the youngest member of the Jonas Leisure team. He spends his day supporting customers to use Jonas Leisure’s software in the best way for their businesses. At work, he loves to delve deep into the technical aspects of his work, but at home he takes a more chilled out approach, getting lost in his favourite games and movies.

One of the most surprising outcomes of the Covid-19 pandemic has been a boost in participation numbers for some Australian sports clubs. With lots of time for reflection and the desperate need to get outside of their four walls, many people have begun a new love affair with fitness and are making the most of sport, when Covid restrictions allow.
