Human of Jonas Leisure: Sophie Pratt

One day she’s dealing with customer enquiries, and the next she’s handling admin and scheduling projects. Outside of work, she’s usually hunting for new restaurants around Melbourne and planning her next big trip.

What do you love most about your work?

I love the diversity of my role and the interesting customers I’m dealing with on a day-to-day basis. I have just accepted an offer of a new role within the company and will be moving into business consulting soon.

How long have you been in the role, and what did you do beforehand?

I have been with Jonas Leisure for the past seven months. Before joining Jonas, I worked within the tourism industry, for over 10 years, in many different roles including sales, marketing, product and training.

Can you describe what you do in a typical workday?

Each workday varies significantly for me. Sometimes I will spend the day in client meetings, while other days I’ll focus heavily on administration and scheduling projects.

Where are you based right now, and what is your office like?

I’m currently based in Melbourne, working from my home office in the Docklands.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy spending my time outside of work exploring Melbourne. I’m a massive foodie and LOVE finding new restaurants and trying new foods.

What is your favourite book/movie/Netflix series?

I love documentaries, especially true crime. I’m also a reality TV junkie.

If you could go on holiday to one country once international travel is back on the cards, where would you go (and why)?

I would love to go to South Africa to explore Kruger National Park and tick off my seventh continent.

What are you most looking forward to about 2022?

Travelling overseas and interstate.
