Sydney-based Jackson Cheung is the youngest member of the Jonas Leisure team. He spends his day supporting customers to use Jonas Leisure’s software in the best way for their businesses. At work, he loves to delve deep into the technical aspects of his work, but at home he takes a more chilled out approach, getting lost in his favourite games and movies.
We caught up with Jackson to learn a bit more about him.
My current role is Support Consultant. I provide customers with help and advice on how to use Jonas Leisure software and I enjoy deep dives into the technical aspects of the software I’m supporting.
I have been working for Jonas Leisure for about three years. Before this I was studying for a Bachelor’s of IT majoring in software technology at Macquarie University.
I typically start the day by following up on emails and ticket updates, continuing any investigations from the day before. I then look at newly assigned tickets and work through those, which usually involves giving clients a call to walk them through their issue. I would also be available for any support calls that come throughout the day and I may be needed in some meetings. I tend to start my lunch from anywhere between 12.00-3.00pm, depending on how busy we are, after which I work through the day’s remaining tickets.
I’m currently based in Sydney and I’ve spent a lot of the past few weeks working from home, so my office is my work/personal computer setup. Before the pandemic, I was in the Sydney office and would be sitting adjacent to my colleagues in the support team
I enjoy watching TV shows, movies and gaming. I’m currently finishing Marvel’s “What If?” series.
My favourite movie is “The Prestige”. I’m a fan of Christopher Nolan’s brilliant technical ability to craft meta cinema.
The idea of a European getaway seems exciting, so I would probably say Sweden. It seems like a great place to live as well.
