Jarad Lam is the go-to guy for customer service. As a Support Manager, he loves making positive changes for Jonas Leisure clients, as well as helping his team and colleagues wherever he can.
Outside of work, you’ll find Jarad nerding out on video and board games or taking regular exercise breaks from his cosy pandemic office at home in Sydney.
I’m the Support Manager for Jonas Leisure. The most enjoyable thing about my role is seeing things at a higher level, which helps customers and makes meaningful changes that have a positive impact.
Just over two years – I started as a Support Consultant and before that I was in a more infrastructure focused role as a System Engineer/Service Desk for Cancer Council NSW.
My typical (if you can call current conditions typical!) workday consists of overviewing the team’s tickets, supporting the team with any escalations and following up with client enquiries.
This is interspersed with pushing forward on current initiatives, such as our Support Health Checks, assisting other teams where required, and doing some tickets as well.
Sydney – our usual office is based in Macquarie Park; it’s a single floor tenancy – quite spacious (doubly so at the present because of the lockdown) with some nice views.
I am working from my home in Lane Cove at the moment because of Covid-19. My home office is pretty cosy.
Stereotypical nerd things – I enjoy reading, drawing and playing games (video and board games), as well as keeping to a regular routine of exercise.
I also catching up with mates for a good drink and a chat but unfortunately that isn’t a possibility right now.
I have a very eclectic taste in music but my favourites run along the electronic line – techno and drum and bass.
If I don’t ever go to a gig again, I won’t be that unhappy since the last gig I went to was just before lockdowns started in 2020 and it was one of my favourite DJs (Paula Temple). It was a one-off experience.
New Zealand’s South Island, specifically during the summer.
